Job summary

University of Miami Division of Plastic Surgery is seeking a highly qualified plastic surgeon to join our academic program. The role emphasizes post-oncologic and microvascular breast reconstruction, while maintaining a broad plastic surgery practice across several health systems.

The position reports to the Chief and Program Director, with teaching responsibilities, scholarly activity, and leadership duties within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/PhD in a related field.
• Board eligibility or ABPS certification in plastic surgery.
• Valid DEA registration and Florida medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding clinical care in plastic surgery, including breast reconstruction and microvascular surgery.
• Educate and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows; deliver didactic lectures and hands-on training.
• Engage in scholarly activities: publish, present at conferences, and pursue research.
• Demonstrate academic leadership through committees and strategic initiatives.
• Engage with the local community to promote health and wellness.
• Stay current with advances via conferences and continuing education.
• Foster collaborations within the institution and with other healthcare organizations.
• Participate in quality improvement to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
• Fulfill administrative duties related to academic appointments and credentialing.
• Pursue professional development and leadership training.
• Participate in on-call duties, outpatient clinics, and coordinate inpatient care.
