Job summary

St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO seeks a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon – Microsurgeon to join its CommonSpirit Health cancer center team.

You will perform DIEP/implant reconstructions, complex microsurgical procedures, and cosmetic services within a high-volume setting, collaborating with oncologists and other specialists. The role requires board-certified or eligible status, fellowship in microsurgery, CO license, and a patient-centered care approach.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completed residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
  • Completed fellowship training in microsurgery.
  • Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
  • Active or eligible Colorado medical license.
  • Strong clinical interest in breast and complex microsurgical reconstruction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a high-volume environment.
  • Commitment to high-quality, compassionate care.
  • Physical requirements: Medium work with lifting limits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced breast reconstruction, including DIEP flap and implant-based procedures.
  • Execute complex microsurgical reconstructions and limb-salvage surgeries.
  • Provide high-quality aesthetic surgery services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary cancer care team (oncology, breast surgery, radiation oncology, orthopedics, neurosurgery).
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation per hospital policies.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated on surgical techniques.
  • Participate in administrative and quality improvement initiatives.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon - Microsurgeon, you will join our dynamic healthcare team at the CommonSpirit Cancer Center at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO, specializing in complex breast reconstruction and microsurgical reconstruction to make a life-changing impact on our patients' health and well-being. Every day you will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, performing complex surgical procedures, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of oncologists, surgeons, and specialists to support the holistic recovery of our patients. To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled, board-certified or board-eligible Plastic Surgeon, possessing advanced fellowship training in microsurgery and a passion for complex reconstruction within a cancer center setting. You will demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care and the capacity to thrive within a collaborative, high-volume environment dedicated to clinical excellence.

  • Perform advanced breast reconstruction, including DIEP flap and implant-based procedures.

Job Requirements
Required
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completed residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
  • Completed fellowship training in microsurgery.
  • Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
  • Active or eligible medical license in the state of Colorado.
  • Strong clinical interest in breast and complex microsurgical reconstruction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, high-volume environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care.
  • Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
Preferred
  • Ability and interest to perform lymphedema surgery, head and neck reconstruction, or hand surgery.
