Job summary

Asahi America in Lawrence, MA is seeking a Fabrication Technician to join our team. You will fabricate and assemble plastic parts, read engineering drawings, and support cleanroom processes with a focus on quality and safety.

The role offers a steady 7:00 am–3:30 pm Monday–Friday shift, Day One benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability), and opportunities for growth within a long-established company.

Qualifications

• Fabrication of plastic parts, tanks, piping systems, and cleanroom components.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Perform in-process quality inspections using basic measuring tools.
• Follow SOPs, ISO and cleanroom standards.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Fabrication Technician in Lawrence, MA :

Fabrication and Assembly:

• Assist in the fabrication and assembly of plastic parts, tanks, piping systems, and cleanroom components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Operate saws, routers, benders, drills, and plastic welding tools (hot gas, extrusion, etc.) to shape and join thermoplastics such as PVC, CPVC, PP, PVDF, and acrylic.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure proper layout, dimensions, and fit.
• Support cleanroom fabrication processes including component prep, cleaning, and assembly within controlled environments.
• Assist with custom valve modification and kitting for customer orders.

Quality and Safety :

• Perform in-process quality inspections using measuring tools (e.g., tape measure, calipers , squares) to ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to ISO and cleanroom protocols to meet customer and regulatory standards.
• Use proper PPE when handling tools, materials, or chemicals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety policies and 5S/lean principles.
• Assist in packaging, labelling , and documenting finished products for inventory or shipment.

Process Improvement and Team Support :

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
• Identify and report fabrication or material issues to supervisors to support proactive problem-solving.
• Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, warehouse) to support smooth production flow and resolve technical or material issues.
• Engage in training programs and skills development to support growth in fabrication expertise and cleanroom practices.
