Job summary

Georg Fischer Irvine, CA is seeking a Fabrication Technician I to fabricate, assemble and modify plastic parts per drawings. You will cut, weld, bend, and finish plastic materials with high precision on the 2nd shift from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, closely collaborating with assembly and maintenance teams.

The role requires 1–3 years in plastic fabrication or related fields, a high school diploma or GED, and experience with polypropylene, HDPE, PVDF and PVC plastics.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints with guidance.
• Ability to read and use tape measurer.
• Ability to use certain plastic fabrication tools with moderate supervision.
• Ability to carry out instructions with moderate supervision.
• Performs all operations according to prescribed safety principles.
• mechanically inclined.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate plastic items using welding, drilling, sawing.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specs for fabrication.
• Maintain high quality and minimize scrap.
• Measure and inspect components to meet tolerances.
• Ensure on-time delivery of products.
• Keep work area clean and tools maintained.
• Repairs and reworks parts as needed.
• Adjust machines for different materials/dimensions.
• Prepare test welds and run tests.
• Assist with building crates for storage/shipment.
• Cross-functionally work with assembly and production support.
• Train others on fabrication process.
• Follow safety PPE and protocols.
