Job summary

Mercury Plastics is seeking a Fabrication Operator to follow training parameters and fabricate and assemble parts from extruded product to customer specifications using fixtures, hand tools, and power tools.

You will operate heating, forming, splicing and punching machines, perform general assembly, and make limited adjustments to equipment as authorized. The role also involves inspecting quality, prepping for shipping, and accurate production reporting.

Qualifications

  • Hand-eye coordination is required to handle fixtures and tooling.
  • Basic math skills are necessary for measurements and tolerances.
  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred for understanding processes.
  • Ability to stand for long periods during shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heating, forming, splicing, and punching machines.
  • Perform general assembly as needed.
  • Make limited adjustments to equipment as authorized.
  • Form plastic tubing using heat panels and ovens.
  • Cut plastic tubing to size using automated cutters per specs.
  • Inspect product with gauges/fixtures for quality and conformance.
  • Prepare product for shipping, including packing and labeling.
  • Maintain accurate production reporting.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean.
