Job summary

Heiman Fire Equipment in Sioux Falls is seeking a Plastics Fabricator/Plastics Welder to operate extrusion and hand-welding machinery. Prior fabrication or welding experience helps, but we will train self-motivated individuals who are punctual and have a willing-to-work attitude.

Responsibilities include interpreting specs, butt fusion welding, precision hand-welding, following plans for efficient assembly, and maintaining safety and cleanliness on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret spec drawings and blueprints to determine setup, production method, and sequence.
• Welding and hand-welding to assemble parts and final pieces.
• Follow plans to ensure assembly is completed efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and comply with safety rules.
• Overtime opportunities may be available.

• Use a non-contact butt fusion welding technique to create parts
• Precision hand-welding to assemble parts and completed pieces
• Follow prepared plans to ensure assembly is completed efficiently and without error
• Follow instructions to ensure proper setup of machines, parts required
• Escalate concerns relating to product quality, safety, or process issues to lead or supervisor
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• This position requires standing for long periods
• Overtime opportunities available
