Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a Manufacturing Estimator II with a plastics background to join a growing production team. You will calculate cost estimates from RFQs by collaborating with shop floor leadership, material suppliers, and external process vendors.

The ideal candidate blends technical plastics knowledge with attention to detail and proficiency in shop management software. Experience with CAD, BOMs, GD&T, and strong client/vendor communication is valued.

Qualifications

• Plastics experience in plastics machining, polymer fabrication, or non-metallic processing preferred.
• 3+ years in a precision manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years on cost estimating.
• Reading engineering drawings and CAD software proficiency (AutoCAD LT or similar).
• Familiarity with shop measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Strong mathematical and technical writing abilities; clear client/vendor communication.

Responsibilities

• Estimate & Route RFQs: Process quotes and orders to maximize margins while meeting lead times.
• Manufacturing Planning: Create BOMs, labor hour estimates, and sequences in ShopTech/ERP based on part geometry and materials.
• Blueprint & GD&T Analysis: Review drawings and GD&T to project resources and cycle times.
• Tooling & Fixture Concepts: Design tooling and fixtures for plastic fabrication.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, purchasing, and quality to drive process improvements and cost reductions.
• Estimate Revisions: Update cost models for ECOs and compare actuals to quoted scope to ensure profitability.
• Quality & ISO Alignment: Maintain adherence to ISO quality objectives and safety protocols.
