Plastic Case Production Operator - Winder - 2nd Shift

Reporting To

Production Supervisor

Role and Responsibilities
  1. Assembles machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to directions.
  2. Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds to those specifications.
  3. Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
  4. Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
  5. Maintains equipment and conveyors and performs basic repairs when needed.
  6. Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts materials handler if supplies are needed.
  7. Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  9. Overtime is required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge and use of tools such as tape measures, screwdrivers, battery-operated tools, etc.
  • Knowledge of hardware arrangements—nuts, bolts, screws, etc.
  • Knowledge of 5S methodology—sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain.
  • Knowledge and use of necessary PPE.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering job spec sheets, connection diagrams, bill of materials, and standard assembly drawings.
  • Ability to operate cranes or other lifting devices as needed.
  • Proficiency with hand tools.
  • Ability to safely use ladders when performing tasks.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Ability to understand and carry out simple instructions.
  • Basic computer skills for parts lookup based on bill of materials.
  • Basic mathematical and communication skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US.
