Medium Voltage Production Operator - Winder - 2nd shift

Reporting Line

This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Assemble machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to directions.
  2. Read blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then build to those specifications.
  3. Operate various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
  4. Maintain logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
  5. Maintain equipment and conveyors and perform basic repairs when needed.
  6. Inventory tools, parts, and supplies; contact materials handler if supplies are needed.
  7. Periodically check products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolve any identified problems and alert supervisor.
  8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
  9. Overtime is required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge and use of tools such as tape measures, screwdrivers, battery-operated tools, etc.
  • Understanding of hardware arrangements like nuts, bolts, screws, etc.
  • Knowledge of 5S principles: sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain.
  • Familiarity with necessary PPE and safety protocols.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specs, connection diagrams, bill of materials, and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to operate cranes or other lifting devices as needed.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and working safely with ladders.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Basic computer skills for parts lookup and documentation.
  • Basic mathematical and communication skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Must have valid work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
