Job summary

ABB is seeking a Production Associate for 2nd shift in North Carolina to assemble machinery according to blueprints and specifications. You will read engineering docs, use various tools, and maintain production logs, ensuring quality and on-time output.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment and conveyors, performing basic repairs, and escalating issues to the supervisor. Candidates should have a high school diploma, tool knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering specs and BOM.
  • Experience with hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Knowledge of 5S and PPE usage.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Good English reading/writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles machinery per blueprints and specs.
  • Operates tools and lifts heavy components safely.
  • Maintains logs and reports on production.
  • Performs basic repairs and conveyors maintenance.
  • Supports quality checks and problem escalation.

Join us and help run what runs the world.This position reports to:Production Supervisor - 2nd shift__Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAssembles machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to directions.Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds to those specifications.Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.Maintains equipment and conveyors and performs basic repairs when needed.Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts materials handler if supplies are needed.Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.Performs other related duties as assigned.Overtime is requiredQualifications for the RoleHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Knowledge and use of tools – tape measure, screwdriver, battery operated tools, etc.Knowledge of hardware arrangements – nuts, bolts, screws, etc.Knowledge of 5S – sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustainKnowledge and use of necessary PPEAbility to read and interpret engineering job spec sheet, connection diagrams, bill of materials, and standard assembly drawingsAbility to use crane or other lifting devices, as neededAbility to use and work with hand toolsAbility to safely use a ladder while performing the job, as neededAbility to lift, push and pull up to 40lbsAbility to speak, read, and write the English LanguageAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple or basic instructionsBasic computer skills to be able to look up parts based on bill of materialsBasic mathematical skillsBasic communication skillsHand, eye coordination skills and use of both handsCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USMore About Us:We value people from different backgrounds.
