SUMMARY: The Plasma Technician I supports the thermal spray (plasma, wire arc, HVOF, etc.) coating process by preparing parts, operating plasma equipment, and performing basic inspections.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with setting up and operating plasma spray equipment to apply coatings on aerospace parts.
  • Prepare parts for coating, including cleaning and masking as necessary.
  • Perform basic plasma coating processes under the guidance of more experienced technicians.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of coated parts to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintain and clean plasma spray equipment, following safety protocols.
  • Document process data and inspection results as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in thermal/plasma spraying or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of plasma spray operations and safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of coating application techniques.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hands-on experience in a related OEM or MRO Manufacturing/Process Engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in plasma spraying or thermal spray processes.
  • Familiarity with plasma coating programs and automated coating equipment.
  • Previous experience with masking techniques.

OTHER:

  • The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
