Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a CNC Plasma Table Operator for our manufacturing team in Watkins Glen, NY. This full-time role requires reading blueprints, operating CNC plasma equipment, and working with steel and sheet metal.

Responsibilities include setting up machines, loading materials, verifying dimensions, and maintaining production records. Safety and accuracy are essential; prior experience with CNC controls and forklifts is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting equipment according to production schedules and work instructions.
• Load and unload steel plate, sheet metal, and structural materials using forklifts, cranes, or other approved lifting equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and cut files.
• Verify material type, thickness, and dimensions before processing.
• Load machine programs and confirm proper machine setup before production.
• Monitor cutting operations to ensure accuracy and consistent quality.
• Inspect completed parts using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other measuring tools.
• Remove slag, clean parts, and prepare components for fabrication or welding.
• Identify quality issues and report nonconforming materials or production concerns.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, including replacing consumables and cleaning equipment.
• Maintain accurate production records.
• Assist other fabrication and manufacturing departments as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

CNC Plasma Table Operator

Location: Watkins Glen, NY
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $18–$20 per hour, depending on experience

We are looking for a CNC Plasma Table Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing or fabrication experience and be comfortable reading blueprints, operating machinery, and working with steel and sheet metal.

• Previous manufacturing or fabrication experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Basic computer skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Experience:

• CNC plasma cutting experience
• Experience with Hypertherm, Burny, Messer, or similar CNC control systems
• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience
• Experience working with structural steel or sheet metal fabrication
