Job summary

Barnes Aerospace - Warren in Warren, MI is seeking a technician with 3+ years of plasma spraying experience in an aerospace environment to spray parts and support production requirements.

Proficiency with the SulzerMetco Multi Coat Sprayer System and ABB 2400 Series Robot, plus the ability to read blueprints and interpret technical documents, are highly valued. Strong math skills and attention to detail, with multitasking and communication ability, are preferred.

Your Expertise:

• 3+ years' experience plasma spraying; aerospace environmentpreferred
• Knowledge/Practical use and programming abilities of Robotic Plasma Gun (SulzerMetcoMulti Coat Sprayer System and ABB 2400 Series Robot)
• Good mathematical skills
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technicaldocuments
• Skills Desired: strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, good communicationsskills

• Perform a variety of duties to plan, set up, and spray parts to meet production requirements. Mask and/or grit blast part to prepare for coating. Use judgment in determining proper flow and speed of spray for the best results and compliance with all specifications.
• Interpret work orders, engine manuals, and blueprints to determine information such as type of operations, and sequence of operations required.
• Work with Engineering to develop plasma spray programs, determine new methods, develop parameters, and determine material type for new or modified products. Assist with new tooling ideas.
• Ensure use of proper fixtures and tools; maintain adequate inventory levels of material to meet production goals. Requisition materials and tooling as required.
