Job Description Summary

Responsible for the accurate and timely sampling, testing, shipping, and storage of plasma collected from donors.

Job Responsibilities

1. Collect plasma samples and transfer plasma units to the freezer following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
2. Ensure proper storage of plasma units, including handling unsuitable units and samples.
3. Verify accuracy of unit labeling by matching pre-printed labels with dynamic labels.
4. Use sterile techniques to draw samples and heat seal to maintain sterility and quality.
5. Pack and ship samples and units according to SOPs, preparing necessary documentation.
6. Calibrate equipment daily and troubleshoot issues as needed.
7. Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures, responding to alarms and recording variances.
8. Provide guidance and training to staff on processes and procedures as required.
9. Record donor data accurately in the electronic management system.
10. Maintain a clean work environment and ensure availability of supplies.
11. Follow all safety and environmental policies, promoting a safety culture.
12. Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
13. Assist in other areas as needed, possibly cross-training in different roles.
14. Bilingual skills may be required depending on organizational needs.
15. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three months of relevant work experience, preferably in a medical or health environment.
• Basic math skills.

Working Conditions

• Visual and verbal ability to interact with customers and monitor equipment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
