Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to support testing across a full range of laboratory analyses.

The role involves training and evaluating staff, writing protocols, and serving as a technical advisor, with responsibilities spanning specimen processing, reporting, and quality assurance. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in laboratory science and prefer ASCP certification, with flexibility for varied shifts and cross-training across multiple test areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in laboratory science required.
  • ASCP certification preferred.
  • CLIA Testing Personnel qualifications.
  • Ability to work diverse shifts and overtime.
  • Ability to work in multiple test areas after appropriate training.
  • Proficient with computer software in office and laboratory environment.
  • Ability to read, understand, write and follow SOPs and documentation clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and document initial training and competency of other testing personnel.
  • Write and revise testing, production, and validation protocols.
  • Act as technical advisor for testing personnel.
  • Perform a full range of laboratory tests with little supervision.
  • Process specimens, perform tests, and report results.
  • Identify problems affecting test performance and report to supervisor or director.
  • Cross-train to perform viral marker testing, serology, and other test areas.
  • Operate complex instruments and automated equipment.
  • Perform glycerolyzation/deglycerolyzation to prepare immunogen cell units.
  • Document lab testing, quality controls, proficiency testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and validation.
  • Provide Quality Assurance support to Laboratory Operations.
