Job summary

CSL Vifor in Indianapolis is seeking a healthcare professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis, provide limited emergency medical care, and conduct medical history reviews to determine donor eligibility.

You will work with the Center Medical Director, review test results, counsel donors on reactive findings, and escalate critical cases as needed. A paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, medical or naturopathic background is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication or treatments as allowed by licensure.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• Advise Center Medical Director on donor suitability and answer medically related questions for staff.
• Review test results and assess continued donor suitability and donor symptoms.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive results and refer for follow-up.
• Provide routine care per SOPs and escalate critical medical situations as required.
