Job summary

Kedrion Biopharma Inc. is recruiting a Medical Screener to join our plasma donation team in a role that blends healthcare procedures with customer service. You will welcome donors, conduct health screenings, and help guide donors through the donation process while maintaining safety and compliance.

Your responsibilities include performing vital signs, data entry, and assisting with plasmapheresis, all within a supportive environment that emphasizes donor safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in healthcare, retail, or plasma/blood collection settings.
• Clinical Laboratory Personnel license required in Louisiana.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Familiarity with FDA, cGMP, OSHA standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register donors with accurate data entry.
• Guide donors through health screening, reviewing health history forms and determining if medical review is needed.
• Perform vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, weight) and fingerstick sampling for hematocrit and total protein.
• Prepare and calibrate screening equipment per SOPs and troubleshoot as needed.
• Monitor donor safety during screening and donation; report adverse reactions.
• Explain donation process, center policies, and safety guidelines clearly.
• Maintain donor records and ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements.
• Operate internal systems (NDDR, CDCS) according to guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and manage supply lots.
• Support plasmapheresis by preparing machines, monitoring comfort, and assisting with disconnections.
• Participate in center audits with accurate records and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with staff to meet production goals and provide a positive donor experience.
• Answer donor and public inquiries courteously and transfer calls as needed.
