Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in New York is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, review lab results, and manage donor safety with guidance from the Center Physician. You will assist in center operations and contribute to EHS and medical affairs guidance.

The role requires state licensure (EMT/B/AP/PR) and CPR/AED certification, plus clinical experience. This is a part-time position in a fast-paced plasma center environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN).
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting; FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical exam and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and center standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility.
• Support vaccination programs for employees (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) and assist EHS when needed.
