Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Bronx, NY is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings under physician guidance.

You will also monitor donor safety, manage adverse events, and assist with vaccination programs and environmental health and safety procedures. The role requires LPN/LVN licensure, CPR/AED certification, and hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified LPN/LVN in the state of responsibility.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing SPE.
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) per SOPs and manage medical emergencies with center physician orders.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance; act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
