Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations in Springfield, MO. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, and manage donor safety under the supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

Requirements include RN/NP/PA licensure, CPR/AED, and state-specific basic IV therapy qualifications, with at least two years in a clinical setting. A comprehensive benefits program is provided.

Qualifications

• RN/NP/PA licensure and state requirements to perform donor eligibility checks.
• CPR/AED certification and basic IV therapy qualification according to state rules.
• Familiarity with plasma center regulatory standards and FDA training.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, history and physical review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and medical emergencies following SOPs and arrange transport when needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unusual findings or medical guidance.
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B, Seasonal Flu) for employees where applicable.
• Manage incidents and coordinate with EHS for appropriate follow-up.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations locally.
