Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Aurora, Colorado is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

Required are a nursing qualification (RN/NP/PA), active license, CPR/AED, and FDA training; two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program.
• Licensed RN/NP/PA in the responsible state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history, and exam.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
