Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Cedar Falls, IA is hiring a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests.

Under Center Manager guidance and Center Physician medical oversight, you will work toward compliant, safe plasma collection and uphold EHS standards while supporting vaccination programs for staff where applicable.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified in the state of responsibilities: RN, NP, or PA.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
• FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including consent, education, history, and medical review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidelines on medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for staff.
• Manage and evaluate occupational health/ER incidents with EHS guidance.
