Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Emergency Medical Technician licenses (EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P) or RN/LPN licensure are required.
• CPR and AED certification are required.
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further occupational health/ER evaluation is needed per EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist in investigations related to local pandemics.
