Job summary

Lapham Hickey in Columbus, OH is seeking a Burn Table Operator to cut material per customer specs using plasma burn table equipment. This full-time production role involves setting up equipment, programming the table, and coordinating with proceeding shifts to ensure accurate cuts.

You will operate overhead cranes and forklifts, load and unload materials, measure for conformance, and maintain safety with PPE.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year burn table work experience.
• Ability to read measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometer).
• Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Ability to perform math including fractions to decimals.
• Ability to recognize and interpret colors per company system.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds with/without assistance.
• Knowledge of general shop procedures and safety precautions.
• Willingness to cooperate with co-workers and production team.

Responsibilities

• Loads equipment with product using the overhead crane and/or forklift to prepare for accurate cuts.
• Removes materials from the burn table and handles according to router instructions.
• Prepares equipment to cut material by programming the computer according to specifications.
• Packages material for shipping when needed.
• Measures material before/after cutting to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Completes inspection reports after inspecting and measuring material.
• Performs preventive maintenance on torches and equipment as needed.
• Adheres to safety policies and wears PPE (glasses, shoes, etc.).
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
