Job summary

Creekstone Farms Premium Beef is seeking an Utilities Manager to oversee refrigeration, boiler and waste water teams. The role involves mentoring staff and driving continuous improvement, while ensuring safety and GMP compliance.

Lead CAPEX initiatives and maintain plant utilities to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience in food manufacturing, a background in ammonia refrigeration/boilers, and certifications such as RETA CIRO/CARO.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Beef plant experience and bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; engineering degree preferred.
• RETA CIRO/CARO certifications required.
• 3–5 years in pressure boilers, NH3 refrigeration and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct Power/Refrigeration/Instrumentation staff.
• Support CAPEX projects and participate in leadership decision-making.
• Maintain equipment to standards and minimize downtime.
• Champion 5S for utility areas (engine room/ammonia/office).
• Develop preventive maintenance programs with the PSM team.
• Enforce safety, GMP and housekeeping practices.
• Coach and develop staff; conduct performance appraisals.
• Investigate accidents; enforce health and safety policies.
• Verify labor hours and payroll accuracy.
• Oversee ammonia compressors, condensers, boilers and other utilities.
