Job summary

DeKalb Health is seeking a Utility Engineer Manager to oversee critical plant utility systems including steam, chilled water, HVAC, refrigeration, and water treatment. You will perform rounds, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with maintenance and engineering to minimize downtime and support production.

Strong leadership and regulatory compliance experience are essential, with flexibility for shifts and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret equipment manuals, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
• Experience with boilers, steam, HVAC, refrigeration, and water treatment systems.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency call-ins.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain plant utility systems including chilled water, boilers, steam, HVAC, refrigeration, and water treatment.
• Perform rounds, readings, and documentation to verify safe and efficient operation.
• Troubleshoot utility system issues and support timely repairs to reduce downtime.
• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance per schedule and equipment requirements.
• Maintain accurate logs and shift communications related to utilities.
• Support startup/shutdowns, changeovers, seasonal adjustments, and emergencies.
• Supervise water treatment personnel and other assigned staff.
• Follow all safety procedures and GMP requirements.
