Job summary

SUNY Brockport is recruiting for a Plant Utilities Engineer 1 to operate, maintain and troubleshoot boilers, HVAC and electrical equipment delivering heat, hot water and climate control on campus.

Working 40 hours weekly on the evening shift (3:00 pm–11:30 pm) on the Brockport campus, you will monitor, calibrate, and test systems, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safe, reliable operation while upholding SUNY Brockport's commitments to equity and service.

Qualifications

• Permanent appointment in Plant Utilities Engineer 1 or eligible for transfer or reachable on NY State canvass list.
• Open Competitive qualifications include HVAC-related education/certifications and relevant experience as listed by SUNY Brockport.
• Four years of full-time hands-on experience in maintenance and operation of HVAC systems or boilers, or equivalent.
• HVAC certificate/diploma from a BOCES program or approved school with two years of qualifying experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boilers, HVAC systems, and electrical equipment to provide heat, hot water, ventilation, and climate control.
• Perform testing, calibration, and adjustment of controls and sensors; troubleshoot problems.
• Maintain and repair boilers, chillers, pumps, piping, and distribution systems; conduct energy management tasks.
