Job summary

Simplot in Moses Lake, WA is seeking a safety-conscious Plant Truck Driver to operate dump trucks, forklifts, and related equipment in a busy manufacturing facility. You will move production materials and byproducts, perform pre-trip inspections, and ensure accurate shift reporting.

This role requires a Class A CDL, a medical certificate, and at least six months of driving experience. You must be 21+, able to work outdoors in all weather, and commit to a strong safety culture while supporting

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum six months of commercial driving experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks, forklifts, and other company equipment safely and efficiently.
• Transport rock, plant waste, vegetable debris, and production byproducts throughout the facility.
• Haul and dump frozen totes using forklift equipment.
• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance needs.
• Assist with routine troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Support plant operations and assist during the shift as needed.
• Keep work areas clean and equipment well-maintained.
• Complete documentation and shift reports accurately.
• Follow safety policies and DOT/FMCSA regulations.

We're looking for a safety-focused CDL-A Driver to help keep our plant running efficiently. In this role, you'll operate dump trucks, forklifts, and other plant equipment to transport production materials and byproducts throughout the facility.

What You’ll Do

As a Plant Truck Driver, you'll play a critical role in supporting plant operations by:

• Operating dump trucks, forklifts, and other company equipment safely and efficiently
• Transporting rock, plant waste, vegetable debris, and other production byproducts throughout the facility
• Hauling and dumping frozen totes using forklift equipment
• Completing required pre‑trip and post‑trip equipment inspections
• Monitoring equipment performance and reporting maintenance needs
• Assisting with routine troubleshooting and minor repairs when needed
• Supporting various plant operations and helping where needed during the shift
• Keeping work areas and equipment clean and well‑maintained
• Accurately completing required documentation and shift reports
• Following all company safety policies and DOT/FMCSA regulations
• Working closely with team members to ensure smooth operations
• Helping train and mentor other team members as opportunities arise

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A)
• Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate
• Must be at least 21 years of age due to travel requirements
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum six months of commercial driving experience
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced industrial environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts and dump trucks
• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Experience in manufacturing, food processing, agriculture, transportation, or production environments
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment issues
• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)

Physical Requirements

This position requires:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing
• Entering and exiting trucks and equipment throughout the shift
• Connecting and disconnecting trailers and related equipment
• Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds
• Working safely around moving machinery and equipment
• Maintaining visual awareness of surroundings, equipment, and traffic conditions

This is an active, hands‑on role in a manufacturing environment. Team members regularly work around heavy equipment, moving machinery, and outdoor conditions throughout all seasons. The work environment can be loud and requires a strong commitment to safety.

Schedule

Candidates should be comfortable working shift hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.

This role does not offer relocation support; candidates must be local or willing to relocate independently.
