Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Houston is seeking a QC Plant Technician to perform standardized qualitative and quantitative testing of printed roll stocks to ensure compliance with specifications.

You will maintain Food Safety and Quality standards, prevent out-of-spec products from reaching customers, conduct line changeover tests, review samples, inspect output for defects and color accuracy, collect retained samples, and document quality issues while working with the press team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience inspecting products, preferably in food packaging or processing.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team, with effective communication.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs in retained samples program.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct standardized qualitative and quantitative testing of printed roll stocks.
  • Maintain Food Safety and Quality standards throughout the plant.
  • Prevent out-of-spec products from being released to customers.
  • Perform line changeover testing and approve job setups.
  • Continuously inspect product output for visual defects and color accuracy.
  • Collect and deliver retained samples for each job.
  • Audit quality checks at required frequencies and report issues.
  • Document quality defects and communicate findings to supervisor.
  • Collaborate with press department to address quality anomalies.

Job description

The primary responsibility of the QC Plant technician is to conduct standardized qualitative & quantitative testing of printed roll stocks to ensure it meets internal/external customer’s specifications.DESCRIPTIONEnsure that Food Safety and Quality standards are being adhered to and maintained throughout the plantPrevent out of specification product from being released to internal/external customers.Perform line changeover testing and sample review to validate job setup is approved to run and deliver product that meets customer standards.Continuously inspect product output of all assigned machines, looking for print visual defects and ensuring color measurement parameters are within the acceptable ranges-as defined by test frequency.Collect and deliver retained samples for each job.Audit all operation quality checks are being performed and at the required frequency.Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.Reports all quality and food safety issues to supervisor.Conduct other duties as assigned by management.Communicates with press department’s manager, lead, and operator on quality anomalies.Documents and records quality defects encountered through shift.COMPETENCIESAbility to work independently or with a team and communicate effectively.Strong analytical skills with attention to detailHigh level of visual awarenessBasic computer skills, including the use of excelProficiency in basic arithmetic operationsMulti-task and work in a fast paced environmentEXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GEDAt least 1 year of experience inspecting productsPreferred experience in food packaging or processingPHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONSAbility to stand and walk for extended periods of timeAble to lift, carry, push or pull 40 lbs as needed (retained samples program)Comfortable working in environments with elevated temperatures, high noise levels, and exposure to odors commonly associated with material production processes.
