Job summary

Calpine, a major energy provider, is seeking a Journey-level technician responsible for start/stop and monitoring of equipment, reading gauges and maintaining logs. Tasks include maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and implementing system improvements with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The role requires health/safety regulation knowledge, experience with test equipment, and strong mechanical and chemistry understanding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Journey-level; generally 6 years directly related experience including health and safety regulations.
• Experience with test equipment, calibration appliances, and control systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and start/stop equipment; read gauges and logs and document activities.
• Perform maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and system improvements for mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and plant procedures; operate heavy equipment and manage chemicals per safety rules.
