Job summary

Luminant Power LLC in Poolville, Texas seeks an Operations Technician to operate and maintain facility equipment, perform outages related maintenance, and ensure safe, cost-effective operations in compliance with safety and environmental rules. You will monitor plant equipment, record readings, and participate in training as required.

The role requires 12-hour rotating shifts, basic PC skills, and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, on-call, overtime.
• Basic PC skills for information processing.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to operate a forklift and man-lifts as needed.
• POSS / MASS program eligibility required for consideration.
• Be able to conduct thermal and water plant chemistry.
• Complete Tier 3 qualifications for operations.

Job Summary

The Operations Technician is responsible for completing the daily tasks required to operate and maintain facility equipment and systems, as well as outage related maintenance and to maintain efficient and cost-effective facility operations with compliance to all safety and environment regulations

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

• Maintain shift operating logs and records
• Operate and monitor plant equipment and systems
• Perform regular equipment rounds, taking critical readings from instruments and reports abnormal conditions to the appropriate manager
• Handle mechanical maintenance tasks, inspections and trouble shooting as assigned
• Assist in the development of standard operational procedures as assigned
• Follow safe working practices and identify hazards and follow through on corrective action as approved by Management
• Use Computerized Maintenance Management system to document plant deficiencies, schedule work and order materials
• Complete required plant training and assist in the training of others
• Unload, handle and transfer bulk chemicals and takes samples for analysis and testing
• Maintain plant housekeeping and security
• Perform other duties as assigned.

LEVEL OF POSITION WILL BE DETERMINED BY APPLICABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Trade school, military service or technical school training
• Proven mechanical and trouble shooting skills
• Ability to work constructively under minimum supervision
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, be on call and accept call-outs and over time work
• Basic user PC skills for information processing and management
• General knowledge of safety and environmental regulation
• Ability to operate a fork lift and man-lifts as needed.
• All applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position.
• POSS / MASS exams are administered on an as-needed basis by Human Resources and all communication concerning the testing is sent to the candidate's email address provided during the application process.

• Complete Tier 3 qualifications for operations
