Job summary

Saint‑Gobain’s CertainTeed Gypsum Plant in Moundsville, WV is seeking motivated individuals for hands-on production roles in a dynamic facility. You will operate diverse equipment, inspect and load products to meet quality standards, and read work orders on 12‑hour rotating shifts with overtime opportunities.

You will train to operate a fork truck and participate in all required duties safely, communicating with shift personnel and supporting all manufacturing processes while adhering to safety

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with co-workers, plant staff, and management.
  • Basic math, reading, writing, and mechanical skills are required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift up to 50 pounds, and move around the plant.

We’re looking for motivated individuals ready to take on a hands‑on role in a dynamic production environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate Diversified Equipment:Work with a wide range of machinery and equipment used in the production of gypsum wallboard/drywall.
  • Ensure Quality & Service:Take pride in manufacturing, inspecting, and loading products to meet quality standards.
  • Rotating Shift:12-hour rotating shifts—including weekends and holidays—with overtime opportunities based on business needs.
  • Accurately read, understand, and execute work orders.
  • Operate a fork truck (training provided).
  • Learn and perform all required duties independently and safely.
  • Communicate effectively with shift personnel and support all manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of production processes, safety and quality standards for optimal product manufacture and distribution.

Performance Standards:

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance and performance.
  • Cooperate and assist fellow employees in a team-based environment.
  • Complete training programs successfully.
  • Work safely while meeting quality, production, and performance expectations.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Show willingness to work overtime, sometimes on short notice.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with co-workers, plant staff, and management.
  • Basic math, reading, writing, and mechanical skills.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and move items up to 50 pounds (with or without accommodations).
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the plant, including climbing stairs and working at heights.
  • Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment.
  • Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.
  • Visual acuity to perform job functions correctly.
