Job summary

Feralloy Corporation, a leading steel processing company, is seeking two Production Supervisors for 2nd and 3rd shift to lead daily plant operations with a focus on safety, productivity, and quality.

The ideal candidate will have proven manufacturing leadership, coaching ability, and experience overseeing shift activities while ensuring OSHA compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in manufacturing, production, or industrial operations.
• Strong communication and ability to coach teams.
• OSHA regs and labor laws knowledge.
• Ability to multi-task and make decisions in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency with MS Office and production systems.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Understanding of production costs and metrics.
• Ability to work independently with good judgment.
• Knowledge of steel industry operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead hourly personnel across production, maintenance, and traffic.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations.
• Coordinate shift activities to maintain material flow and meet goals.
• Monitor attendance, approve hours, and issue discipline.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and a presentable facility.
• Train staff on safety, quality, and procedures; cross-train for scheduling.
• Track and report production data using AS400/Star, Dayforce, and scheduling systems.
• Support internal departments with cost control and material needs.
• Assess hourly performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain urgency in meeting order deadlines and protecting assets.

Function in the Job

Job Function

• Lead and supervise hourly personnel across production, maintenance, and traffic departments.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant operations.
• Coordinate shift activities to maintain smooth material flow and meet production goals.
• Monitor employee attendance, approve hours, and issue corrective discipline when necessary.
• Maintain strong housekeeping standards and ensure the facility is clean and presentable.
• Train employees on safety, quality, and operational procedures; ensure cross‑training for flexible scheduling.
• Track and report production data using AS400/Star, Dayforce, and scheduling systems.
• Support internal departments with cost control, material needs, and customer order flow.
• Help evaluate hourly employee performance and recommend corrective actions when needed.
• Maintain a sense of urgency around customer service and meeting order deadlines.
• Protect company assets through proper operating procedures and equipment management.

Required Skills

• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial operations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and coach teams.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and federal/state labor laws.
• Ability to multi‑task and make sound decisions in fast‑paced environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to use computer-based production systems.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• Understanding of production costs, efficiency improvements, and operational metrics.
• Ability to work independently and use good judgment with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of steel industry operations or industrial equipment is a plus.
