Job summary

The ANDRITZ plant in Griffin, GA seeks an experienced Operations Manager who will schedule and oversee daily plant operations to meet customer delivery expectations while ensuring safety, quality, and throughput. This role reports to the Plant Manager and leads manufacturing personnel across shifts.

Responsibilities include production scheduling, cross-training oversight, direct labor hiring, and ensuring SPI and industry standards are met. Occasional travel to other sites is required.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in paper industry or related setting.
• Proven supervisory and leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Requires computer skills with Word and Excel; multitasking in a high-pressure environment.
• Occasional travel required; outstanding written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages, directs, and controls activities for all manufacturing personnel.
• Schedules all production activities.
• Communicates the schedule and current lead times to customer service personnel.
• Primary contact regarding hiring of all direct labor employees and maintaining the cross-training matrix.
• Works with area managers to ensure direct labor employees are evaluated.
• Directs employees to achieve best product delivery and quality.
• Responsible for overall quality and cost performance for every roll.
• Oversees assigned capital projects.
• Visits customer sites as required by the customer or Sales group.
• Ensures SPI and industry standards are met for all rolls.
• Travels to other Andritz facilities to interface with plants for efficiency.
• Reports issues or concerns to the Plant Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Experience: 8-10 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a paper industry or related setting.
• Proven supervisory and leadership abilities, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Requires computer skills with strong skills in WORD, EXCEL.
• Multi-tasking capability in a high-pressure environment is a fundamental requirement.
• Requires occasional travel.
