Job summary

The Clorox Company, a leading consumer goods manufacturer, is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Amherst, VA plant. You will lead capital projects, drive equipment and process improvements, and provide hands-on technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams.

This role requires strong collaboration, project management, and problem-solving abilities to ensure safe, efficient plant performance. Qualifications include a mechanical or electrical engineering degree and 2+ years in manufacturing,

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related experience, with at least 3 years in manufacturing or plant engineering.
  • Proven track record of managing the planning, analysis, approval, and execution of capital projects, with responsibilities spanning cost management, scheduling, quality control, start-up/commissioning, and training elements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to function effectively as both a team member and leader.
  • Strong technical expertise, coupled with the ability to think conceptually and systematically to address complex engineering challenges.
  • No Visa or sponsorships will be considered
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • Lead and manage capital projects from inception through feasibility, business justification, detailed engineering, equipment selection, installation, and commissioning to achieve a successful vertical start-up.
  • Drive equipment and systems efficiency improvements, cost savings, and upgrades to enhance operational performance.
  • Provide both day-to-day and long-term technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams, identifying and addressing process maintenance and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Act as a key technical resource for maintenance and production staff, offering problem-solving expertise and driving the implementation of effective solutions.

The qualified individual will be a hands-on plant engineer focusing on the technical support to operations as well as leading multiple projects, including capital upgrades and commercialization projects.
