Job summary

Great Dane is seeking a Safety Supervisor to lead plant safety, health and environmental programs. You will support staff and drive safety initiatives to improve workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5–10+ years of relevant experience, deep OSHA knowledge, and strong communication and training skills. Travel up to 10% to support multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in related discipline.
• 5-10+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination.
• Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations for general industry and ability to apply them.
• Understanding of environmental regulations and compliance across the organization.
• Knowledge about design and assembly of dry freight vans to inform health and safety decisions.
• Ability to perform basic first aid and emergency response.
• Basic understanding of welding, spray painting, shot and glass bead blasting, and related fabrication equipment.
• Strong communication skills for meetings, training, and written interaction.
• Proficiency in computer data entry and email.
• Travel: up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety, health and environmental support to plant staff.
• Assist in managing safety and health programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead and support audits, safety training, incident investigations, and worker’s compensation programs.
• Contribute to safety committee activities and safety program development.
• Other duties as assigned.
