This role provides hands‑on engineering support across plant operations, maintenance, and capital projects—applying engineering principles to improve safety, reliability, and performance in a complex, high‑energy power generation environment.

The Plant Engineer will develop technical expertise across plant systems, lead small-scale capital and outage projects, and contribute to the long-term operational efficiency of the Riverton Plant.

  • Develop understanding of plant function and operation, specifically operational systems, equipment and their integration. Develop understanding of plant maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Participate in formal training programs (e.g., OJT, Energy Supply Operator Training) and continue to develop technical knowledge through on-the-job learning with operators, technicians, and plant leadership.
  • Support Operator/Technicians and other Managers in the operation and maintenance of the Riverton Plant and be able to provide weekend support.
  • Be available for 24/7 support of operations and maintenance.
  • Provide support for O&M budget.
  • Support purchasing, by investigating and specifying equipment and parts as directed by other managers.
  • Develop, implement, and manage projects of less than $50,000, including scope development, work packages, bid documents, scheduling, contractor selection, and full lifecycle project management (budget and schedule).
  • Provide support for larger projects. Support development of Capital Budget.
  • Support outage planning and implementation.
  • Manage 3 to 5 outage items which have a 3 to 5-person work crew with a duration of 2 to 4 days.
  • Support other larger scope outage items, including contractor as well as self‑performed.
  • Develop basic skills in systems which support operation and maintenance of plant. These systems include, but are not limited to, Plant Distributed Control System, Maintenance Management System, Continuous Emissions Monitoring System, Corporate Financial Management System, etc.
Education and Experience
