Job summary

Dauch is seeking a Plant Project Engineer at the Gallatin, TN plant to lead equipment installations, modifications and project engineering activities, ensuring safe, cost-effective execution of manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with maintenance and operations, develop budgets, scheduling, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet objectives.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering, with 3-5 years of progressive project engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Project Engineering/Project Management experience (training or certification).
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in project engineering roles in a heavy industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of general plant construction practices, building construction, installation of equipment, etc.
• Knowledge of OSHA and general EPA regulations is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Streamline Project Management workflows and conducting FEL studies (preliminary evaluation, project design, cost estimation, cost control).
• Work with Engineering for capital project development; bid evaluation; project scheduling and coordination; installation and debugging.
• Analyze repetitive equipment failures and design solutions to reduce maintenance costs and evaluate alternatives.
• Assess the needs for equipment replacements and establish replacement programs when due.
• Assess required maintenance tools and skills required for efficient maintenance of equipment.
• Assess and report safety hazards associated with all plant equipment (maintenance and production).
• Analyze equipment performance relative to production requirements.
• Implementation of designs or practice changes, through hands on involvement
• Responsible for training full-time employees, contractors, and agency employees.

Job Description Summary

The Plant Project Engineer is responsible for all equipment installations, modifications, plant engineering support and project engineering. Also, assure that training and development needs are identified, and programs initiated. They will work with the assigned Plant Maintenance Area to develop and recommend budget, short and long-range operating objectives.
