Job summary

SugarCreek Packing Co. is seeking a production planning professional to coordinate materials with the production schedule and manage inventories for efficient operations.

You will work with plant and corporate management to implement inventory targets and improve replenishment planning and scheduling effectiveness. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Business/Logistics/Operations and 5+ years in manufacturing planning, preferably in food.

DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Coordinate production materials and ingredients with production schedule demands. Manage supply inventories to ensure efficient and effective operation of the assigned department or facility. Work with Plant and Corporate Management to implement and improve material planning and inventory strategies, including setting inventory targets, improving replenishment planning procedures and improving scheduling effectiveness.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serveas a primary point of contact for and liaison with supply chainand manufacturing departments.
• Collaboratewith productiondepartments toestablishinventory processes,schedules and plans thatallocateavailable resources to best serve client or customer needs.
• Compareavailable inventory of raw materialsdailywith production schedule to ensure zero downtime for out-of-stock supplies.
• Ensure adequate raw materials inventory is on hand to achieve production requirements.
• Workwith outside supply vendorstoensureaccurateandtimelydelivery of orders.
• Participate in periodic forecasting meetings with sales,marketingand other related departments.
• Comply withfederal, state, and company policies,proceduresand regulations.
• Support all safety, foodqualityand sanitation initiatives and policies.
• FollowSugarCreeksafety rules and procedures.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Business, Logistics, Operations, or other related field; or equivalent experience.

Experience: 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing planning or similar role, preferably in a food industry setting.

Certification or Licensure Requirements: Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) a plus.
