Job summary

Masis Staffing is seeking a Plant Production Shift Supervisor for a fast-paced 24/7 folding carton and packaging environment in Methuen, MA. You will lead shift operations across printing, die-cutting, finishing, and folding-gluing, driving safety, quality, and output while minimizing downtime and scrap.

The role reports to the Plant Manager and serves as the key link between plant leadership and floor teams. Must be able to work off-shifts and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably packaging/converting.
• Experience with shift operations and coordinating multiple lines.
• Ability to read schedules and job specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shift operations across printing, die-cutting, finishing, and folding-gluing lines.
• Conduct structured shift handovers with status, maintenance, and safety updates.
• Enforce OSHA/plant safety rules and lead safety talks.
• Monitor quality metrics and reduce scrap and downtime.
• Coach operators and provide performance feedback.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate mechanical concerns to minimize downtime.
• Use production data to identify bottlenecks and improve uptime.
• Verify labels and specs before use.
• Assist with folder-gluer setup, make-ready, and quality audits.

Job description

Masis Staffing is hiring a Plant Production Shift Supervisor for a fast-paced 24/7 folding carton/packaging manufacturing environment in Methuen, MA. This role leads shift operations across printing, die-cutting, finishing, and folding-gluing, driving safety, quality, and output while minimizing downtime and scrap. The supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and serves as the key link between plant leadership and floor teams.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day shift operations across press, cutting, and gluing lines to meet production and delivery goals
• Run structured shift handovers (job status, maintenance updates, safety alerts) for smooth transitions
• Enforce safety standards (OSHA/plant rules), lead safety talks, and maintain housekeeping expectations
• Monitor product quality (creasing, glue integrity, print alignment) and reduce scrap
• Coach and develop operators and pack/inspection team members; provide performance feedback
• Troubleshoot production issues quickly and **escalate** mechanical concerns to reduce downtime
• Use production metrics/lean practices to identify bottlenecks and improve uptime/throughput
• Read schedules and job specification sheets; verify labels/specs before use
• Support folder-gluer setup, make-ready, specialty gluing applications, quality audits, and production documentation
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 3–7 years of manufacturing supervisory experience (packaging converting preferred: folding carton/corrugated/printed packaging)
• Familiarity with sheet-fed presses, die-cutters, and/or folder-gluer operations
• High school diploma required (Associate/Bachelor a plus)
• Able to work off-shifts (2nd/3rd) and provide coverage in a 24/7 environment as needed
• Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for long periods
