Your mission, roles and responsibilities

Description:
The Plant Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing process control programs that will assure production of finished goods that meet or exceed customer-specified requirements. He/she leads continuous improvements by utilizing the appropriate quality tools and provides data analysis.

The main missions of the role are to:

  1. Approve and implement internal work instructions on the production lines and ensure that all necessary inspections are included, the necessary time is allocated in the standardized work sheets, and that the related measuring equipment is available and meets requirements (e.g. R&R study, etc).
  2. Ensure the respect of the control plan and archive required quality records in accordance with the control plan.
  3. Define and update the inspection instructions according to the control plan (e.g. final inspection instructions).
  4. Organize and perform gauge R&R studies. Perform measurements and data collection on engineering samples, record SPC data, and coordinate line trial data collection.
  5. Assess new and existing manufacturing methods as it relates to part quality, including tooling, fixtures, layouts, and equipment for potential quality/cost improvements. Lead pre-production and pre-launch activities.
  6. Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) in conjunction with advanced quality-planning activities. Compile the contents and assure compliance to customer requirements for all initial production part submissions.
  7. Facilitate the establishment and implementation of quality specifications, testing procedures, and standards for raw materials, processes, and finished goods.
  8. Develop and recommend inspection, sampling techniques, and quality control plans, develop process control procedures to ensure production of finished products meet quality specifications and standards.
  9. Provide leadership in APQP and PPAP processes to determine testing, sampling techniques, and gauging methods needed to produce new products.
  10. Be a key member of the program launch team through all phases to support the Program manager and Corporate launch team.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years automotive experience.
  3. Strong analytical and proven team-oriented problem-solving skills required.
  4. Strong customer satisfaction orientation.
  5. Ability to develop strong leadership skills.
  6. In-depth knowledge of quality engineering techniques.
  7. In-depth knowledge of Metrology.
  8. Above average communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  9. English speaking.
