Adv. Quality Engineer (Finance)
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related STEM field or equivalent based on combination of education and/or experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in a QA and software testing position;
- 5 years of experience in leading QA Process improvements;
- 5 years of experience developing and executing automated test scripts and working with automated test frameworks and runners;
- 3 years of experience with test case management and tools;
- 3 years of experience utilizing risk-based testing techniques;
- 1 year of experience using SQL or other query methods to validate changes in the database;
- 1 year of experience mentoring and coaching others (remote & onsite);
- Experience with defect management and tools;
- Managing test environments and data;
- Using continuous integration tools;
- Working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support quality assurance programs and processes in an Agile/Scrum environment with minimal guidance.
- Provide feedback and coaching on artifacts developed during requirements and analysis phases; author test cases/scripts; perform test execution.
- Guide testing efforts involving coaching, mentoring, code reviews, and contributing to frameworks, tools, processes, and best practices.
- Maintain and oversee automation test suites.
- Estimate QA efforts including test case design, scripting, data management, execution, and defect correction.
- Utilize quality metrics to foster quality improvements.
- Support CoE activities for continuous improvement.
- Manage QA projects, schedules, tasks, and deliverables.
- Communicate quality issues and recommendations to management.
- Consult on feature designs to ensure testability and coverage.
- Develop and maintain software quality dashboards.
- Automate test cases and libraries using open source and commercial tools.
- Lead and coach CI/CD and SDLC/TDLC practices.
- Automate workflows from ideation to operations.
- Support complex systems with integrations via APIs and multi-step authorization.
- Develop or recommend tools for testing planning, execution, and reporting.
- Position may be located at any Kroger Co. office in the U.S. or remote.
