Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a Plant Product Quality Index Engineer to resolve design issues, drive quality improvements, and provide production support for PQI, PPQA and FVV initiatives at the Denton plant.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing, and familiarity with PACCAR systems; strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of PACCAR systems (COPICS, OPS, EASOP, PCMS) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve engineering design issues and support production.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and 6-sigma activities.
  • Prepare and present engineering quality status reports to management.
  • Provide engineering assistance, problem resolution and training.
  • Design parts in assigned project phases with minimal supervision.

Requisition Summary

This PQI Engineering position is responsible for engineering design issue resolution, quality improvement development, and production support for engineering issues that primarily arise in PPQA, PQI, and FVV.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for engineering design issue resolution, quality improvement development, and production support.
  • Duties involve engineering assistance, problem resolution, training and other engineering duties supporting various aspects of heavy truck production.
  • Designs specific parts in assigned phases of projects, applying standard engineering techniques with minimum supervision, occasionally requiring independent evaluation.
  • Lead and/or participate in 6-sigma initiatives aimed at meeting plant and division quality goals.
  • Prepare and present engineering quality status reports and other detailed reporting as directed to various levels of management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • No Travel expected for this position
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years' experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Extensive knowledge and use of PACCAR systems such as COPICS, OPS, EASOP and PCMS preferred. Knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
