Job summary

Turner Staffing Group is partnering with a quarry operation in Hinkley, CA to hire a Plant/Process Operator. This role involves hands-on operation of crushing, screening, and conveying equipment to keep the plant running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include startup/shutdown of plant equipment, maintaining production rates, performing basic maintenance, and ensuring compliance with MSHA and safety policies.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of experience operating a crushing, screening, or processing plant.
• Working knowledge of crushers, screens, conveyors, and related equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Strong safety focus and ability to follow procedures.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime or extended shifts as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Hinkley site.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor crushing, screening, and conveying equipment to produce aggregate to specs.
• Start up, run, and shut down plant equipment following SOPs.
• Monitor material flow, adjust settings, and maintain production rates and quality.
• Identify jams, blockages, and spillage around crushers and conveyors.
• Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance.
• Report issues and assist maintenance with repairs.
• Complete pre-shift exams and log production/equipment data.
• Keep work areas clean and organized and follow safety policies.
• Coordinate with plant supervisor and crew to align production.
