Job summary

Sakata Seed America, Inc. in Salinas, CA is seeking a Full Time Technician to support plant pathology efforts. You will coordinate disease resistance screenings across lab, greenhouse, and field, manage data entry, and help interpret results for product development.

The role requires careful attention to protocols and collaboration with others. The job involves growing and caring for plants, maintaining facilities, and training staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, agronomy, or related field.
• Experience in Plant Pathology, laboratory/controlled environment and/or greenhouse/field work desirable.
• Ability to perform routine greenhouse/field tasks and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate disease resistance screenings in lab, greenhouse, growth chambers, and field.
• Schedule screenings, evaluate data, and record results.
• Analyze results and report to supervisor; develop protocols and assist other pathology programs.
• Maintain pathology facilities and equipment; ensure safety and proper housekeeping.
• Grow and care for plants including media prep, fertilization, watering, pest control.
