Job summary

Dakota Ethanol in Wentworth, SD is seeking a Plant Operator to operate plant equipment, boilers, water treatment, and the DCS control system. The role includes QC analyses, batch processing, and rotating 12-hour shifts from day to night, with night hours 7pm–7am.

Candidates should have post-secondary education or technical trade training, or relevant process operations experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, PTO, and a new hire bonus.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education, technical trade certificate, or process operations experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and operate all processes associated with the plant.
• Learn and operate DCS (computer control system) for the plant.
• Test and maintain proper water chemistry in the boiler and cooling tower.
• Perform quality control tests on product streams.
• Follow procedures for plant start-up, shut down, cleaning and batching.
• Keep accurate and timely logs.
• Respond to collected data and adjust to optimize plant operation.
• Load trucks with product (all co-products) using computers, meters, scales and equipment required to assure timely delivery of products.
