Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Plant Operator in Waukesha, WI. You will safely operate equipment for handling and production of gas cylinders, loading and unloading on trucks, and maintaining clean, organized work areas.

You will read labels, follow safety procedures, and assist with filling high‑pressure and cryogenic cylinders with accuracy. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, 401(k) with company match, and 14‑week parental leave.

Qualifications

• Required: HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: manufacturing operation experience.
• Filling/loading experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication to ensure team alignment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate equipment for handling and production of gas cylinders.
• Load/unload cylinders onto/off trucks and trailers with proper carts.
• Sort cylinders by type for organized workflow.
• Roll cylinders and operate forklift on pallets.
• Read cylinder labels and color-coding to identify contents.
• Label cylinders accurately and prepare high/low pressure cylinders for filling.
• Perform safety checks per procedures (odor tests, caps, valves).
• Fill cylinders by pressure and weight per regulations.
• Maintain documentation for DOT, FDA, OSHA and Airgas standards.
