Location: Durham, NC (ASG) - Industrial spec gas

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Plant Operator 1 processes gas cylinders in preparation for new gas production, ensuring safety, product quality, and productivity during the work shift. Responsibilities include sorting cylinders by size and service, scraping and painting cylinders, maintaining organization in the cylinder yard, moving cylinders within the facility, inspecting and preparing cylinders for filling, performing maintenance on cylinders, and loading/unloading trucks.

1. Sort and evaluate incoming gas cylinders.
2. Move cylinders to designated processing areas.
3. Scrape labels from cylinders.
4. Paint and apply temperature coating to cylinders.
5. Perform visual inspections of gas cylinders.
6. Install new cylinder valves in low and high-pressure cylinders.
7. Maintain the cylinder yard in a clean and organized manner, storing cylinders by service, size, and valve type.
8. Perform valve and cylinder inventory.
9. Qualify and operate forklift, including performing forklift inspections.
10. Load and unload cylinders onto/from pallets and trucks.
11. Perform maintenance on cylinder prep equipment.
12. Keep a clean and orderly work area.
13. Support management with health, safety, and ISO quality programs.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills comprehension.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent.
• Ability to write and fill out reports in English.
• Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, SDS, and manuals in English.
• Ability to read pressure and temperature indicators.
• Ability to connect/disconnect filling lines.
• Ability to move gas cylinders.
• Teamwork skills and ability to follow directions.
• Willingness to work all shifts and in various weather conditions.
