Job summary

Diversified CPC International in Channahon, IL seeks a Level 1 Plant Operator to train as a safe Chemical Process Operator. You will learn to handle, transfer, and store LPGs, refrigerants, and other materials in compliance with regulations.

You will troubleshoot, monitor, and control both continuous and batch processes and manage storage tanks, trailers, railcars, and cylinders. Willingness to work extended hours and overtime with short notice is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to bend, stoop, climb and maintain balance.
• Basic PC skills are required for logging and reporting.
• Able to be certified as an odor panelist.
• Excellent math and reading skills needed for measurements and calculations.
• Good communication skills are necessary for team and supervisor interactions.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to Production Manager.
• Monitor operation of the production facility and adjust as necessary to maximize efficiency.
• Perform calculations and measurements to meet demand.
• Maintain awareness of product, production, and process status.
• Fill out logs and forms and document as required.
• Ensure emissions are kept to a minimum.
• Connect and disconnect rail cars, truck trailers, and cylinders as needed.
• Load and unload rail cars, trailers, and cylinders as required.
• Perform routine tests and inspections of receipts and shipments.
• Conduct laboratory analysis of products and certify quality on shift.
