Job summary

Munson Healthcare in northern Michigan is seeking a Plant Operator to operate stationary engines and boiler systems, monitor equipment, and perform preventive maintenance to support hospital facilities.

You will observe meters, document conditions, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements in a busy healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in operation, inspection, maintenance of high pressure boilers and steam systems.
• Valid MI Driver License.
• State of Michigan Third‑Class Stationary Engineer Registration must be completed within three years or an approved equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Operate stationary engines and mechanical equipment (boilers, turbines, generators, air handlers, chillers, water softeners).
• Record operating conditions and meters; perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain regulatory documentation as needed.

A Day inthe Life

The Plant Operator is responsible for Operating stationary engines and mechanical equipment including but not exclusive to steam and hot water boilers, steam turbines, generators, air handlers, air conditioners, chillers, and water softeners to provide utility services. This position observes meters, records operating conditions of equipment along with performing preventative maintenance and repairs, and regulatory documentation as needed.

• Valid MI Driver License
